The skies twirl to the tune of the dancing girl’s feet,
the wind and sand settle into the folds of her skirt,
rain pours down, soaking her raven hair and staining her hairpins,
thunder splits the ground beneath her butterfly movements,
she dances on a makeshift stage, performs effortlessly,
the dust is beneath her bare feet, it flies with her wind,
time speeds forward as the skies clear,
the rain stops, thunder feigns defeat,
light unearths a path to her figure on stage,
she still whirls in artful circles, her bangles chiming rhythmically,
she looks up, smiling as the world changes for her.
